Tudor Primary School

WEB UPDATE- New term now well underway...

Half way through September already and the children are motoring!

To think that I am already showing parents round our super school as part of the application process for children in 2019-2020... and we continue to have a LOT of interest in Tudor!

Over 140 families wanted their children to start their schooling at Tudor Primary this year and it is looking like those numbers may even increase for next year's intake. I do enjoy showing parents around the school as it allows me to highlight how the school continues to grow and develop. The new early years area is an(other) super selling point because it demonstrates how we are determined to invest in the children that come to our school each day.

The new reception cohort of 2018-2019 already seem like they are very comfortable with the school and the adults that work with them- the 'community feel' really does permeate all areas of the site. It never ceases to amaze me how even the youngest children start so well and any children who do initially find it hard to come into the school building on those first mornings are soon confident and able to run in with a big smile on their faces. It is fair to say that I think it is the parents who find it the toughest at first though...

As Mr Higgins Tudor Sports Twitter feed said this week, we have more numbers than ever being part of the after school provision at Tudor- and we still have more clubs to come. The after school provision must always be of the right quality whilst being affordable for all- we really have made massive strides forward with this and our curriculum sporting provision continues to be enhanced with every child being able to receive high quality sports coaching from Mr Higgins each week. Mr Jones also joined our sports staff this week- he is our new sports apprentice and I know that he has really enjoyed becoming part of Team Tudor.

Our breakfast club is something we are VERY proud of. I am able to see what the children are able to enjoy each morning and I firmly believe we offer one of the best provisions around. If you are still thinking about whether your child should attend, do give it a try. We continue to subsidise the club to keep costs as low as possible and it really helps start the day off in the right way- for parents as well as children.

A number of parents came in this morning and asked about 'Tudor Cake Day'- please be assured that once this starts up again you will be informed by newsletter.

Tomorrow (Saturday 15th September), the FOT are holding the annual Tudor Adventure Play Date which is being at Adeyfield Adventure Playground. Bring your children along for a play and there are snacks on sale- it will be a good opportunity for you to meet others from our school community. It is being held from 12-3pm.

Thank you to all those who came along to their child's 'Meet the Teacher' meetings this week. Feedback received has been positive and I trust that you found the meetings useful in finding out what is in store for your children. Presentations from the meetings are available in the class blogs. Do look at these blogs which are found in the 'Curriculum and Classes' section on the website. Follow this link to see what in on there.

The new TWITTER LINKS are also available on front page of the website now. These can be used to access the school twitter page as well as the Tudor sport twitter page. They really provide 'up to date' information about life in our school.

It is pleasing to see that virtually every child has returned to school smart and prepared for the new term. When the children come to school smiling and in the correct uniform it really highlights how proud they are to be part of Tudor and, as all the indicators tell us (including amazing progress scores!), the children are really flourishing.

And we also beat our attendance target this week...

Have a happy (and safe) weekend!
