Web Update- September COMPLETED!

Tudor news as we enter October...

It shows how busy we have all been at school now that we find ourselves already at the end of September!

The children in Early Years are already settled in their brand new learning spaces and the rest of the school continue to work hard for their new teachers. The final week in September at Tudor brings our first assessment week of the year and this is already highlighting the areas that we need to focus the children on.

In respect of seeing how the children are progressing, the online booking for the first pair of consultation evenings will open next week. Due to the fact that schools are operating with a later half term this year will mean the dates for the parent consultations are:

-Tuesday 23rd October- 3.30pm-7.00pm

-Thursday 25th October- 3.30pm-7.00pm

It will certainly be a long first half term but that will mean that there will be lots to share with you on when you attend those meetings. Do make sure you book your slot as early as possible- we really do expect all families represented at the consultations as they are a vital part of the partnership that we have between school and home.

On Thursday of next week (Thursday 4th October), the photographer will be in to to take individual photos of the children. I am very proud of the school when I see all the children smiling in their smart uniform and smart shoes and I would like to thank all of you who respond to the expectations in the wearing of appropriate uniform. Days with changeable weather mean that the pile of lost property often increases in size as the children take off jumpers and coats during breaktimes- do make sure those jumpers have a clear name inside: it is so much easier to find the rightful owner if there is a clear label inside.

We have now had a few of our parent assemblies for the classes and I must say I was thrilled with the military themed assembly that Miss Scott and her 4U class presented this week. The assembly was able to demonstrate why I am so committed to true thematic learning- you could clearly see how the children had already become immersed in the in the 'Is it right to fight' topic and how it was inspiring the children to do so well. Well done 4U.

As you will be aware, parents are invited to tea/ coffee and refreshments after each class assembly. These are great opportunities to find out about what is going on in school as well as our plans for the future. I also enjoy being able to find views on potential ideas that can make our school even better.

I mentioned to you all recently about the growing interest in our school and our pupil numbers continue to increase. Yesterday alone, I was informed about another 6 new children who will be joining us at Tudor and this is in addition to the interest shown by those parents as part of the entry into our Reception (and Nursery) next year. It is really great to show the school off to new parents and to hear the comment of one as he left this week was really great:

'Thanks for showing me around- the school blew me away!'

As I promise ALL parents on a tour, I am happy to show them 'any class, any time, any day'. After all, all of the staff at Tudor are very proud to work here and we want to share what we do for the children. Every moment of every day is vital and your children deserve the best.

Enjoy your weekend.
