Highlights of today's home learning and the answers to today's CGP pages and reading challenges.

Hello Year 2,

We hope that you've all had a good day.  We've certainly enjoyed looking at the work and photographs that you've sent through to us today.  It seems that you're all finding more and more creative ways of going about your home learning.  Today's picture (above) was created by Andreas using the program 'Paint'.  It says 'colourful' on it and it certainly is!

Lots of you found creative ways of extending your Maths tasks today too by measuring things around your homes.

Matilda created and prepared her own picnic.  She found fractions of different amounts of food and measured the length and weight of the fruit and vegetables that she cut up.  Meanwhile, Cassia and her mum estimated the size of different objects around their house and then measured them carefully.  The carefully organised table shows just some of the things that they measured.

There have also been some very impressive pieces of writing for today's extra challenge.  Some people wrote poems, some wrote stories and some just focused on writing a description.  It's great to see so many of you really thinking about your word choices and putting in lots of adjectives.

Aiden's story included lots of adjectives.

Edie's story was beautifully illustrated,  Just look at that cute chick hatching out of its egg!

Eadie used some amazing vocabulary and even included a simile sentence in her writing.

Briar-Rose explored prepositions today by putting things in different places.  Now where did she put those slippers...

Kye wrote this amazing acrostic poem.

Daniel made his own pizzas for lunch (yum!).

Well done to all of you who have been going on Spelling Shed and Maths Shed regularly.  Also, well done to those of you with Lexia logins who've been reguarly using Lexia at home.  Wellington has been working particularly hard on Lexia.  He's already completed his time for this week AND gone up another level.  Great job Wellington!

Have a great evening everyone and we really look forward to seeing what you do tomorrow.

Best wishes,

Miss Scott and Miss Cosby
