This week, Year 1 had a very special visit from the RNLI (Royal National Lifeboat Institution)! The children were so excited to learn about the different vehicles the RNLI use and learn all about the important work they do to keep people safe at sea.

We learnt loads of really important information, including dangers near water, what to do in an emergency, what the different flags mean on the beach, and the meaning of the RNLI’s key message: "Float to Live.".

Some of us even got the chance to dress up and try on lifejackets and see the bright yellow wellies and helmets that lifeboat crews wear!

The visit ended with an important message: the RNLI is always there to help, but we must all play our part in staying safe near the water. It was a fantastic learning experience, and we’re so grateful to the RNLI for taking the time to visit us.
