This week, in maths, we have been looking at written methods for addition and subtraction. We used counters to create our minuend and then started to remove counters when taking away our subtrahend. We found that if we did not have enough counters, we would have to regroup, or exchange, from the next highest value. For example, we would swap a one hundred counter for ten tens counters!
