3S head off to Kew Gardens

Year 3 have been developing their quilling and collage skills through a vibrant rainforest theme in Art, exploring “a whole new world” of colour, texture and shape. Using carefully rolled strips of paper, they created intricate flowers and towering trees, while using overlapping to make different animals.

Year 3 have now sketched their final pieces, adding crowns to 'Tudor-fy' themselves (they have recently been learning all about King Henry VIII and his many wives!)

We have started sketching in Art, and our recent lesson was all about using a range of pencils and experimenting with different shading techniques to create depth and add detail. Keep your eyes peeled for some self-portraits...
