One of the most interesting finds in Ancient Egypt was the discovery of Tutankhamun's Tomb by Howard Carter in 1922.

We looked at what happened and then imagined we were Howard Carter finding that tomb by writing some diary entries.

In these we looked at using the past tense, first person and informal language. It was fascinating to find out about the discovery as well as imagine we were actually there.
