This week in D&T, we have been planning the design and construction of our awesome Roman inspired shields. We practised different joins using cardboard, including tabs, flange, tie and an l brace. We then discussed our design criteria including making sure the shield is strong, rigid and hard wearing. The children also agreed that the design needed to be exciting and scary, so it intimidates the enemies! Take a look at some of the super designs below, and watch this space for the finished prototypes.
