What happens in Rome...
It was a very busy first week back in both 3S and 3T.
All the children were really enthusiastic about their new theme 'Up Pompeii' - focusing on Roman history.
To start the week, we had one less day than usual... which threw us all off every single day last week! In our theme lesson, we located different countries on a map and some of us even began to label the seas. Both 3S and 3T were very confident about their continents of the world and enjoyed singing a song to recap these!
Our new science topic relates to rocks, which absolutely ROCKS!!!!! The children were very engaged in their learning, becoming scientific observers to sketch the rocks they were exploring. We had to consider terminology to describe our rocks to improve our scientific explanations. Here are some of us working!
Finally, this week we have been focusing on our multiplication in maths (mainly 3,4,8s) and how to apply these when working. We used a range of strategies but were most confident with arrays. We then used this knowledge and applied it in a game... 4 in a row!
