Testing different materials to see which would make the best Viking nappy!

In science, we have been looking at different materials and their properties, and discussing why objects are made out of particular materials. We tested different materials to see which one was most absorbent to design a nappy for Vikings to use on their long boat trips across the North Sea. We found that the cotton wool was the most absorbent, and materials like plastic wrap and shells were least absorbent. Then, we did an extra inquiry to see how absorbent shop-bought nappies are - we found that it could hold 580ml of liquid!
