A fantastic half term!

Both myself and Miss Bell are very pleased with the first half term in year 1.  The children have been working incredibly hard.  We have enjoyed exploring our senses down in the nature reserve and creating some lovely Sense Memories of our time there.  There has been lots of fun, outdoor learning that we have been able to take advantage off whilst the weather has been kind to us, including money hunts and clock making on the playground!  The children have also been busy writing stories about a lost toy and exploring the use of similes in poetry.

In topic we have had fun learning all about ourselves and the different aspects of our lives, from healthy eating to the local area.  We even had a go at creating a messy map of the classroom!

We have also seen some wonderful pieces of home learning so far this half term and we are excited to see what wonderful creations the children will bring with them next half term! They will receive their new home learning grids the first week back after half term.

Overall, it has been a great start to the school year and we are increadibly excited for the rest of the year ahead.

We would like to take this opportunity to thank all the parents and carers of the children in year 1 for your continued support and wish you all a happy and restful half term.

See you all for Halloween!
