Year 2 are taking part in https://www.growyourownpotatoes.org.uk/, which encourages children to grow potatoes.

After 'Chitting' our potatoes over half term- today was the day we finally planted them.

We watched the instruction video to pick up the top tips and set to work making sure we were careful to pat the soil down to make sure the chits were still on the potatoes.

  

Now we need to water them every 2 days or so. When they start to peek through, we have to cover them again with soil until the whole grow bag is full.

It will definitely be a test of patience for us, as the potatoes will not be ready to harvest until June/July! So watch out for updates until then!
