5X investigate reducing water resistance.

How did the Vikings become such good travellers?  Using boats of course! The question is, what shape boat did they use and why?

To see what shape moved through the water the fastest (with the least water resistance), we made different shapes out of modelling clay and raced them.

We soon found that pointed, flatter shapes moved more quickly and that dipping your hand into water to get the shapes back can make you very wet!
