On Thursday 6th November, Richard Maskrey and School Consulting Ltd will be presenting a free information session via Teams on E-Safety, Artificial Intelligence (AI) and how to keep your children safe online. Richard is a renowned speaker who has appeared as a specialist in this area on national television. He has also been the E-Safety Lead for Hertfordshire.
I cannot stress how important it is for parents to have a strong understanding of the benefits and dangers that children face in this digital world. Whilst there are many advantages of such innovation, the negative impact and dangers it can also create cannot be underestimated. Please be aware that digital dangers and concerns have been (and continue to be) an area that always remains a priority for us here at Tudor Primary. There is a great deal of evidence of highly concerning online behaviours from children and, in many cases, parents have not been aware of what has been occurring.
We have always been pro-active with E-Safety here at Tudor, and the children have regular dedicated E-Safety lessons, but we are looking to further enhance the way we support our school community. I have already spoken with all of our children here at Tudor on this important topic and this is now being extended out to all of you. I have asked Richard to focus on the dangers that all of our children face, no matter what year group your child is in. This is a challenge that ALL parents face.
In this meeting he will be able to share with you the latest information on:
- Current online trends and risks
- How to keep your child safe
- What is AI? How might it impact on our lives?
- Where to find help and support
Following feedback from our last E-Safety information evening, we have decided to make this next meeting online, with a later start time, lasting for approximately one hour and we hope to see as many parents/carers as possible represented. After all, we want to empower you (and your children) when making decisions online.
Further details and links for this online event have been sent to you - please check your latest emails.
