STAY INFORMED- so much great news to share...
Newsletter 15
Thursday 18th June 2026
Dear Parents and Carers,
I mentioned in the last newsletter how busy the second half of the summer term is and the energy levels in school are certainly high. Our academic outcomes continue to set the standard and children are able to excel. Year 1 did wonderfully well with their phonics assessments and the Year 4 multiplication check once again showed Tudor at the top of the tables!
A vital part of our work is to be truly aspirational for the children so that there are no limits placed on their potential. EVERY day counts and those children that attend well, achieve well. It is certainly no surprise to see the link between good attendance and strong achievement- academically as well as socially. All at Tudor should take great pride in how our partnership enables children to be truly happy in school- our approaches are being shared with other schools. From positive behaviour and supporting strong attendance to curriculum innovation, Tudor’s provision is highly regarded.
As the photos of proud pupils show, the standards of work at the moment are great to see. The year 6 artwork including a range of artistic skills displaying periods of history is up there with some of the best work I’ve ever seen!

The way the team inspire using our curricular themes is simply magical!

Summer Parent Consultations are on the 7th and 9th of July and we hope that every child is able to be represented by their family. End of year reports will be shared as well as important transition information ahead of next year. Book in via Arbor. Only a few parents left to book on!

The school also received our county summer inspection this week. Whilst we await the full report we were delighted with her views on our practice. The focus was ‘Inclusion’ and how we adjust provision to meet differing needs. At the centre of our success here is the outstanding work of Miss Reading. The inspection was able to evidence how our systems are understood by all and achieve true impact. Do see Miss Reading’s section on the next page for what was shared in the feedback. We did SO well: our partnership between children, school and home is FANTASTIC!

There will be some new additions to the ‘Tudor Teaching Team’ for next academic year. Mrs Massey has already made a super start with us in year 2 and we will soon be welcoming Miss Kennell and Mr Lower. The recent job advert received amazing interest and we should feel very excited about the future- ALL children at Tudor continue to benefit from a settled, consistent and sustained experience of teachers and we are fortunate to be a school where LOTS of people want to work. The class allocations for next academic year will be shared next week. Our current staff attendance is also fantastic and this, once again, evidences our support of staff well-being. They truly are a committed bunch. The staff attendance rate for May was 99.89%! This consistent provision is vital for the children as placing great teachers in front of your children EVERY day is what makes schools work. As the pupil voice activities tell us, the answers to the BEST things about Tudor are TEACHERS and FRIENDS! 😊
As some of you may know, Mrs Hall will be retiring at the end of the year and we certainly MUST ensure we give this TRUE TUDORITE a special send off. She started at Tudor over 30 years ago and our school will certainly not be the same without her!
Inclusion at Tudor Primary- a message from Miss Reading- our Leader for Inclusion:
This week, Tudor School welcomed our annual summer visit from the School Effectiveness Advisor. The focus of this visit was inclusion, and whilst we are still awaiting the full report, the feedback shared during the visit was overwhelmingly positive. Comments included:
"What you do shows you care for the children, all the way through the school."
"The culture in the school means that children are open to talk about their experiences."
"Bespoke interventions help children."
"Staff make excellent connections with children."
These comments reflect the dedication, care and commitment shown by our staff every day. We should all be incredibly proud to be part of the Tudor community—I know I am!
Please also make a note in your diary that our final Tudor Coffee Morning of this academic year will take place at 9:00am on Tuesday 23rd June. All parents and carers of Tudor pupils are welcome to attend. We look forward to seeing you there.

The Friends of Tudor continue to support the school in so many ways- they make a real DIFFERENCE to every child in our school. Planning is underway for the ‘FOT Summer Picnic’ which will take place on Saturday 4th July.

If you would like to become part of this AMAZING group of TRUE TUDORITES, contact the school office who can point you in the right direction. The FOT AGM is taking place at the Hemel Ski Centre on June 25th at 7.30pm. The FOT would LOVE to meet you.
Tudor office payments are now cashless. We can no longer take cash. Uniform and meals can be paid for in the office by card (we will need the actual card, not contactless). For trips and clubs you will need your Arbor app or desktop site access. Do make sure you can sign in! Contact the office if you find you are having problems. Thanks in advance!

Year 6 skiing continues to excite! The fact that Tudor Primary has skiing on the curriculum is truly special- how many schools can say that?! Year 6 are enjoying their skiing course and the progress they are making on the snow is super to see. We are determined to give these children a fantastic final year!

I trust this newsletter evidences the energy and fun that permeates our school. It really is a special place to be each day and the children are clearly flourishing. We are proud of the academic outcomes and progress that the children make (and what inspectors say about us!) but it really is those extra experiences that the children will remember. Our curriculum is designed to excite and inspire and the staff team remain determined to give their all. From supporting other schools to working with partners such as the Hospice of St Francis, Tudor truly makes a difference.

Don’t forget CRAZY HAIR DAY on Friday 26th June too. The children (and staff!) are sure to have an(other) memorable day. EVERY DAY COUNTS at #TeamTudor. Thanks for working in partnership with us for the BEST children around…
