AMAZING reports received from county inspectors - WELL DONE EVERYONE
Newsletter 16
Thursday 2nd July 2026
Dear Parents and Carers,
Welcome to what is likely to be the penultimate newsletter of the school year. We should all feel extra proud when reading this latest edition as I am able to share some truly amazing news. We have just received our latest report from the county advisory team and this relates to the summer inspection visit. The focus was on ‘inclusion’ and how we ensure that EVERY child is able to flourish in our school. Do have a look at the comments on the below they are just some of the many observations about our provision and they certainly evidence just how well the team at Tudor work. Very few schools get such praise.

An extra special mention must go to Miss Reading who leads on this vital area of our practice. What was so highly-regarded was the total synergy of comments from the leadership, teaching team and children. Due to the quality of the evidence, the advisor has stated that we do not have any additional actions to complete. Such a response is very rare indeed and I would like to congratulate everyone for their ongoing tremendous performance. The children clearly get a great deal. And that wasn’t the only inspection visit we have received recently…
A county ‘Early Years’ advisor also visited us last week for a focus on our nursery provision. Whilst we have not been sent the full report yet, the comments from the initial verbal feedback show just how impressed they were. Well done to the EYFS team!

You will now be aware of the Tudor teaching team structure for next academic year. Putting highly effective teachers in front of every child, every day is a vital part of my role and I do not believe many schools will have such talent running through the school. A HUGE Tudor welcome to Mr Lower and Miss Kennell who both interviewed incredibly well- they are both super excited to be #TeamTudor. I am sure you are delighted that Tudor continues to offer full teaching assistant support in EVERY class too.
The academic (and social!) success that we continue to experience is the result of hard work and high investment. We are delighted with the progress made by the children across the school. From reception outcomes, to phonics and multiplication checks, to some of our best writing assessments we’ve ever had- the children are FLYING!

Whilst academic results are important, we must never underestimate the value of FUN! Crazy Hair Day was enjoyed by all- some of the designs the children (and staff!) had were truly awesome. We were able to raise a tremendous £539.85 for the Hospice of St Francis too. What a difference that will make…
Inclusion at Tudor Primary- a message from Miss Reading- our Leader for Inclusion:
ADD-vance's fully funded autumn workshops and six-week courses for parents and carers are now open for booking. For more information, please visit the SEND/Family Support Links page on the school website:

A range of transition activities has already begun to support a smooth move from one year group to the next for all children. Teachers and support staff will receive a comprehensive handover for every child. Where a child has additional needs, all relevant plans and information will be shared with their new class team before the transition takes place. This ensures that the appropriate support and provision are in place from the very first day, helping every child to settle quickly and continue making good progress.

The Friends of Tudor continue to support the school in so many ways- they make a real DIFFERENCE to every child in our school. Disappointingly, the summer picnic that was planned for Saturday has now had to be cancelled. The FOT are finding it increasingly hard to find extra support and help. To ensure this valued group can continue to help our children, do consider what role you could play. A little help can go a LONG way!
Once #TeamTudor ALWAYS #TeamTudor- A special feature about our school is how we enjoy sustained relationships with members of our community. As well as our Dacorum-leading work in transition between schools, we offer valuable work experience opportunities. Ex-pupils adore coming back and it’s rewarding to see how warmly they speak about their time with us. A special mention to ex-pupil Kaiden Simmonds who continues to make amazing strides forward in athletics- he is now even being recognised at a national level.

We are even being informed of ex-Tudorites representing themselves on the WORLD stage. When I say that we must be ASPIRATIONAL- there really is NO LIMIT!

Summer Parent Meetings and End of Year Reports- Let’s make sure that every child is represented in our summer parent evenings so do book via Arbor (or contact the office) if you have not sorted your meeting yet. By far the biggest influence in a child’s development is from the home and we are keen to remain in partnership with you all. Ensuring your child can enjoy school consistently is the responsibility of the parents and this is where the vast majority of Tudor parents EXCEL. It is likely that we will achieve over 96% attendance this year- that is SUPERB.

Persistent absenteeism is when a child is at school less than 90% of the time and only 5.4% of our children face this issue. Children who attend well, achieve well- in all areas…

A VERY significant THANK YOU- There are many people that work together at Tudor Primary. From teachers and teaching assistants, to admin staff and governors, the success of the children is a truly joint effort. A key leader at Tudor is our Chair of Governors- Mrs Susannah Arje who will soon be retiring from this position. I would like to thank her on behalf of the full Tudor community for her (voluntary!) support and commitment to our school over many years. EVERY Tudor child (and adult!) has benefitted from her input…
We pledge that the energy (and joy!) will continue until the end of term. Weather is looking perfect for the KS1 ‘Seaside Day’ this week which includes brass band performances, fish and chips, Punch and Judy shows and more. We have a (surprise) science show for the children on Friday too as well as a multitude of other activities going on in school. It has also been exciting to meet the many new families for next year’s nursery and reception. Welcome to #TeamTudor!

To finish, I do feel I should share just one more example of the ‘’Crazy Hair’ styles from last Friday. It was so warm, one parent even turned her daughter’s hair into a washing line! Creativity (and fun!) is all around us…
