Let's all recognise (and celebrate!) how we have worked together this year...
Newsletter 17
Thursday 16th July 2026
Dear Parents and Carers,
What fun was had by all on Monday at our 2026 Tudor Sports Day.

From the range of skills on show in the morning, to the summer picnic and the races on the track in the afternoon, it was a tremendous day.

Whilst the blue team came out on top to win the trophy, everyone was able to leave with a smile. An extra-special sporting mention to Toby and Emmy from year 6 who also performed well in the Dacorum School Athletics.

Talking of success, I think it is appropriate for this newsletter to be used to help celebrate how #TeamTudor and the school community have worked together throughout this year. 2025-2026 is certainly able to evidence some fantastic progress and achievement for the school- and in so many ways. As you know, the interest in the school is the incredible- we have even been contacted by admissions at county who have been amazed with the number of enquiries for spaces. As pupil voice feedback highlights, the children’s favourite things are the friends and the teachers who they are able to spend time with. So that we can prove that we are giving the children the best opportunities, we continue to seek the views of other professionals about our practice. The reports that we have received this year are, without question, the best this school has ever received. There have been county reviews of our curriculum, how we support vulnerable pupils as well as how we ensure EVERY child is able to flourish. From a focus on nursery to how children who face other barriers to learning (including emotional challenges), we are determined to seek ways to refine what we offer and we should all be delighted with what has been reported, recorded and shared about our school. The screen shots of reports on this page are able to provide just a sprinkling of the magic that has been recognized about Tudor Primary.

Whilst our initial focus must be on the safety and wellbeing of children, our academic outcomes and results continue to demonstrate how the children are truly flying. From our youngest learners all the way to year 6, the children are excelling and we believe that we get the balance of academic excellence alongside the memorable experiences that the wider Tudor thematic curriculum provides. At the core of our school offer, is our pledge that the needs of the children and families of our community are the driver of what we do. Please do spend some time looking (or re-looking) at some of the report extracts that we have shared on this page. They are truly the result of the partnership that we enjoy.
And yes… we still have ‘meet your new teacher’ and a number of fun surprises and celebrations in store before the end of term on Tuesday 21st July.
Inclusion at Tudor Primary- a message from Miss Reading- our Leader for Inclusion:
I would like to thank all parents and carers, particularly those with children who have additional needs and who have attended additional Support Plan meetings, medical meetings, Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) reviews, or meetings with external professionals to review their child's progress and plan the next steps. As I have mentioned on several occasions, the most successful outcomes are achieved when children, parents and carers, and school staff work together in partnership. I look forward to meeting with you or seeing you at one of our Tudor Coffee Mornings during the next academic year. In the meantime, I hope you and your families have a wonderful, relaxing summer break!
Please don’t forget to finish off the year in the RIGHT way!
Below is a quick check for you to complete for the end of the year. To help, we’ve even completed the first question for you. Do please check all of the other sections this will help things run super smoothly for the last few (BUSY!) days. We do expect to see all children in school and Monday’s ‘Meet your new teacher’ morning activity is really important to help support your child (and their teacher!) ahead of September. Mr Lower and Miss Kennell are super excited to be the newest class teachers to become part of #TeamTudor. What an impact they are sure to have.

A HUGE Tudor THANK YOU! Obviously, such times can also mean that we say goodbye to valued members of the team and Mrs Hall deserves a VERY special mention for what she has given this school and this community over many years. From first working in the kitchen in 1987, Mrs Hall has been a dinner lady, learning support assistant, teaching assistant and more. Such people are truly the glue that help keep schools together…THANK YOU Mrs Hall.

Miss Cohen, Mr Harvey and Miss Panos will also be leaving their full time positions at Tudor and we thank them for the difference they have made- we look forward to seeing them again soon!
Please remember to use ‘Hangout in the Holidays’- Mr Higgins and his team are offering a range of fun activities in our summer provision. We have timetabled water fun, camp fire, forest school, scooting and cycling as well as lots of arts and crafts. Childcare vouchers are accepted and you can book via Arbor. Discounts are also being offered for block bookings. Let #TeamTudor keep your children entertained!

‘Binnie McBinface’ and ‘Smash the Trash’- If you see these names on the front of new local bin lorries, they were some of Tudor’s choices selected as part of a local competition. Well done to the winners!

In this final newsletter of the year, all at Tudor Primary would like to wish the children (and families!) of year 6 all the best as they depart for the next stage in their educational journey. Primary education truly sets the foundations for the future and they have amazing potential. They have been wonderful ambassadors and they have modelled the core values of kindness, respect and responsibility throughout their time with us. You will forever be #TeamTudor. 😊
I do hope that this ‘celebratory’ newsletter has been able to share the positivity that we should all be feeling about Tudor. Be assured that we remain equally excited about what next year will bring. Let’s all remain highly aspirational- whether that is for academic outcomes, attendance, levels of behaviour and ensuring that EVERY DAY MATTERS. Let’s go for it for the BEST children around…
