November 8th- WEB UPDATE!

Keeping up to date with important news...

First of all, I would like to say that I hope you all had an enjoyable half term break. It was good to see a number of you out and about in Hemel Hempstead during the holiday...

This second half term of the Autumn term is always extremely busy and we have already been planning for some fun, festive activities in the run up to the Christmas holidays.

Some important changes...

We have had to adjust some of the Christmas presentations as it became increasingly clear that we would be unable to have the required amount of tickets that the larger presentations would need. We had originally planned for a complete Key Stage 2 assembly but when it became (even more) apparent that parents would not be able to have two tickets each, we decided to separate the 'juniors' into two separate productions. This will mean that families will be able to sit together and also (just as importantly), the children will have more opportunity to have their 'moment on stage'.

Delivering a fun, festive production in December is a traditional part of primary school and we will endeavour to get the right balance. As a school that has had some open air Christmas concerts in the past few years it will be nice to come back into the warm! Do keep an eye out for additional information (and tickets!) for the presentations. The NEW confirmed dates are:

Tuesday 11th December- 10am- Reception performance

Tuesday 11th December- 6pm- Year 3 and Year 4

Wednesday 12th December- 11am-  Nursery 'sing-along'

Wednesday 12th December- 6pm- Year 1 and Year 2

Thursday 13th December- 6pm- Year 5 and Year 6

On Monday of this week, the school was closed for INSET and the staff completed their performance management target setting. It is super to see how committed the staff team continues to be and they were all keen to set challenging objectives for their work with the children of Tudor.

FOT and their FUN events

Also this week, the children have been excited about the 'Spooky Disco'. This FOT event has come quite quickly after the successful Movie Quiz night that took place in the Friday before half term. This valuable fundraising will help provide some exciting new opportunities that all of the children at Tudor will be able to enjoy. Without giving too much away, we are currently being visited by a number of companies who are designing some rather exciting structures to be built on the large mound at the back of the school... I wonder what is in store...

Talking of surprises, it was super to see the children enjoy the recent Railway Children Theatre Production. I really felt that the children deserved this treat on the final day of what had been a long half term. After all, they are the best school children around...

UPDATE- well what a super disco evening it was. The children clearly had the most wonderful time and a huge thank you must go to DJ Billing and the FOT Dancing troupe...

Times are just as important as dates!

I must apologise to the Year 5 parents who received a letter this week about the parent meeting for next year's trip to JCA Condover Hall. Whilst I was able to say that the meeting will be held on Tuesday  13th November, I had not mentioned that the important meeting will be starting at 6pm. We look forward to sharing how amazing this year 6 trip in October 2019 will be.

Keep up to date...

Do keep an eye on our website and twitter pages: there continues to be so much going on and just this week we had 60 Year 1 children taking part on a sports festival- they certainly gave it their all and they enjoyed sharing their sporting talents against a number of other schools.

Enjoy the rest of your week (and the weekend)...
