At Tudor Primary School, we are proud to be a welcoming, inclusive and multilingual community, where more than 40 different languages are spoken. We value the rich diversity of our school community and are committed to ensuring that every child feels included, supported and able to thrive.

We recognise and celebrate the strengths that children who speak English as an additional language (EAL) bring to our school. Our aim is to ensure that every pupil develops the language, confidence and skills they need to fulfil their potential academically, socially and emotionally.

Our Assistant Head for Inclusion works closely with teachers and support staff to ensure that classrooms are welcoming, accessible and inclusive for all children. We provide staff with the knowledge, strategies and resources they need to support pupils with EAL effectively and help them make accelerated progress in their English language development.

Children receive carefully planned support to develop their English alongside the full curriculum. Staff use a range of approaches to make learning accessible and meaningful, including visual resources, modelling, repetition, vocabulary development, pre-teaching and regular opportunities for purposeful talk. These strategies help children to develop their understanding, participate confidently in lessons and make strong progress across the curriculum.
