We read 'The Lighthouse Keeper's Lunch' and made our own moving story pages.

We've been exploring mechanisms in Design and Technology, including wheels, pivots and sliding mechanisms.  We used the skills that we have developed to design and then make moving pictures based on the story.  Here are some of the results.

At the top of the page you can see Rosa's picture, complete with poor Hamish the cat hiding his eyes so that he can't see how high up he is.

This is Abbey's sliding lunch basket.

Amelia's basket slides too and you can see the lighthouse keeper, Mr Grinling, coming to get his delicious lunch.

    Bobby has included flying seagulls.

Meanwhile, in Cherish's picture Mr Grinling is shaking his fist angrily at the greedy seagulls who are eating his lunch.

This is Joanna's picture complete with poor Hamish the cat.

Here is Matilda's waving Mr Grinling.

Eadie has used two baskets to try to trick the seagulls.

Florence's picture shows how the seagulls were stopped in the end by putting mustard sandwiches in the food basket.   They're not at all impressed and are dropping them with the help of a sliding mechanism.
