Years 3 and 4 marked the end of the 'Is It Right To Fight?' theme with VE Day celebrations.  In the morning we were 'evacuated' to other classrooms where we learnt to send telegrams and work out perimeters so that we could keep soldiers secure.  We also designed and made war medals and danced the Jitterbug to 'In the Mood' by Glenn Miller, adding our own percussion accompaniment.  In the afternoon, we had 'street parties' in our classrooms and listened to music from World War 2.
