Dear Parents and Carers,
A VERY good school…
In Monday’s assembly we talked about how the teaching team are supported to help them be the best they can be. EVALUATION was a word shared with the children and we also talked about the importance of ASPIRATION. We all agreed that Tudor must try to be the best it can be.
The children had some fantastic ideas about how the leaders of the school can find out about the learning that goes on- to be fair I think we have some future teachers (and headteachers!) amongst our pupils. We truly believe the evaluation and moderation activities that have started this week will further evidence how well the staff team are working in support of your children. From standards in books and classrooms, to the children’s views on HOW they are supported (especially when they find things challenging!), we want to find out as much as we can. Whilst I think our own ‘review’ of performance is important, we continue to seek (and invest in) the views of experienced outside voices. In relation to this, we are delighted with the report from the county advisor following a recent inspection visit. The focus was on transition and how we support children when starting new things. The comments below are incredibly pleasing and they demonstrate that the staff really do work hard to ensure the children are safe, settled and READY to progress.

The school is not currently in an ‘Ofsted window’ but I do challenge those schools who simply prioritise periods when their school is more likely be inspected. EVERY moment of EVERY day matters and, as the happy faces of the children CONTINUE to share, Tudor really does go above and beyond for the BEST children around.

The level of interest in the school remains very high and many families want Tudor Primary for their children… as I say on the tour, I am able to show ANY class at ANY time on ANY day. Despite these wonderful reports on our school, the atmosphere of POSITIVE behaviour for learning in Tudor is our BIGGEST selling point.

We are also a WHEELIE good school? (Sorry- could not resist that😊)
We are proud of our academic provision (and outcomes) but we are also incredibly keen for our pupils to flourish in many other ways too. Do keep an eye on our website for the range of sporting/ music/ adventurous events that the children take part in. Once again, the cycling proficiency teachers enjoyed returning to their ‘favourite school’ last week. The year 6 children certainly did well with their biking skills on the local roads. We have also further enhanced our ‘balance-ability’ provision with investment in school scooter sessions-the children are SUPER excited to wear the new safety gear too! They look GREAT!

Inclusion at Tudor Primary- a message from Miss Reading- our Leader for Inclusion:

Attendance- time for an update!
As shared in previous correspondence, attendance is a true indicator of well-being and happiness within a school and I am unapologetic when it comes to my sustained determination for children to benefit from a full and consistent experience of school. When I first shared that 97% should be our whole school TARGET, a number of voices were rather dismissive but we should be as aspirational for such an achievement as we MUST be for the highest academic outcomes and progress. As the data on below shows, we are really setting a standard. Well done EVERYONE! Only 7% of schools better- WOW!

I shared the school meeting with the MP for Hemel Hempstead in our last newsletter. From an ever-increasing evidence base, our school is demonstrating that we really are ‘making a difference’ for our locality.

We should all want the best for the children and a word shared at the start of this newsletter is key for us all. We must be aspirational. I have always wanted Tudor Primary to be KNOWN for excellence. In whatever we do, let’s all aim high. December is a rather busy time in primary schools- we will keep that focus on STANDARDS but also allow ourselves to celebrate this magical time as a TRUE Tudor COMMUNITY. Thank you to the vast majority who work in PARTNERSHIP with us…
