Religious Education and Assemblies

A daily assembly is held which has a broadly Christian ethos delivered through stories, guests, poems, plays, pictures etc., which are drawn from a wide variety of sources, cultures and religions to explore the chosen theme.

During RE lessons we consider the beliefs and practices of the major world faiths, with the emphasis being on Christianity. This is necessary if the children are to gain a more complete understanding of the world and their place in it. At no time are children required to take part in religious practice or accept as truths matters of religion that may be contrary to their own upbringing. Parents have the right to withdraw their child from assembly and religious education if they wish.
